What can I do on E-comcat without registering?

However, what you cannot do without registering is view real-time availability of products, access a shopping basket, or make a purchase online.

Registration takes very little time, it is free, secure and opens up a far wider range of online services and functionality on E-comcat.

• Email baskets to other registered users on a shared account
• Purchase the products in your shopping basket either using a credit or purchasing card or on your account (if you have an account with us).

How do I find what I’m looking for?
There are two main routes to finding the products you need on E-comcat.

These are:
Searching for the product using the Search Boxes on the top menu bar

Browsing for products using the Browse Alphabetical Index also positioned on the top menu bar.

Our search function works on the product description, a selection of keywords associated with the product, on manufacturer, Jencons catalogue number and in many cases the manufacturers part number or model reference. It is often best to use the search facility when you have a good idea what you are specifically looking for.

If you wish to browse our complete range for a particular product type, for example, see all bench-top centrifuges we offer, or all our glass beakers, then Browsing by product type is a good way to make sure you see all the products available. You can refine your browse at all stages.

If you cannot find the product you are looking for on E-comcat, please do contact us as we can source products for customers outside the scope of E-comcat. In this case you can use either the E-comquote facility or if you register you can use the Quote facility on your shopping basket to send us your enquiry.

Will I know my delivery charge before ordering?
If you enter the site as an un-registered visitor you are not able to access a basket or order. If you register with us, E-comcat in all but a few exceptions* will automatically calculate a delivery charge for the items in your basket. This charge is calculated on the weight of the items included in your basket and is based on delivery to the address that is associated with your account most often a ‘Goods In’ or ‘Stores’ delivery address.

If you wish your products to be delivered to an alternative address, then you will need to specify that alternative address in the ‘Additional Delivery Instructions Box’.

The delivery charge will be displayed on the Payment Options page, before you place your order.

*There are a small number of products on E-comcat for which we are unable to provide you with an automatically generated delivery charge. These products are indicated on site as a ‘Special Delivery Items’ and you will be prompted to contact our Technical Office by email for a quotation for delivery. This is to ensure that we are able to give you the best possible price for your delivery on large and bulky equipment.

Could I get a Quote on E-comcat ?
Either as an unregistered or registered visitor you are able to easily request a quote from us using our E-comquote link facility.

Registered visitors can use the E-comcat quoted basket facility. This feature allows you to obtain a quote for the contents of your shopping basket, or merely use your basket to obtain a quote for other items you might wish us to quote for. Just click the Quote me button on your basket, fill in a few details of what you need, and an email will be sent to our Technical Office, who will respond with a quote.

The difference between the E-comcat quoted basket function and our E-comquote feature is that a quoted basket can be purchased online at the quoted price, whereas a quote obtained from E-comquote cannot.

How can I pay on E-comcat?
If you enter the site as an unregistered user, you will not be able to purchase online. To place orders on E-comcat you need to fill in a simple registration form and wait a short while for us to email you with confirmation that the site is now available to you.

If you already have a credit account with Jencons and you enter your Customer Account number on your registration form then, following checks, we can link you to your account. You will then have the choice of paying for your online purchases either by credit card or on your account. If you would like to set up an account with us then you can contact our Finance Office on 01525 372010.
